Run Pain-Free and Use Less Energy
ChiRunning is the world’s leader in teaching safe and efficient, natural running technique to reduce injury and improve personal performance. My mission is to help you LOVE running forever.
How You Were Meant to Move
ChiRunning is based on the practice of T’ai Chi, and helps your body move according to a natural order. Your big muscles do most of the work, the smaller muscles do less, and the smallest muscles do very little.
This runs counter to the way most people run. Most people use the small muscles in their legs to push themselves forward, while their much more powerful core muscles do very little.
For Every Level of Runner
Regardless of your experience, ChiRunning will help you:
- Look forward to a lifetime of injury-free running
- Go farther or faster with less effort
- Improve your body alignment for optimal efficiency
- Lower the impact to your joints
- Reduce the workload on your legs – at any speed
- Build core strength to go farther faster
- Relax your body while you run
- Become more mindful and aware of your body as you move
- Become a highly efficient and adaptable runner
Running doesn’t hurt your body!
It’s the way you run that causes problems
ChiRunning minimizes the two most common types of running injuries: impact and overuse.
I’ll show you how to minimize impact on your ankles, knees, and hips by using a mid-foot strike to dramatically reduce your impact.
I’ll also show you how to minimize the use of your lower legs by relaxing and running efficiently. This will help you avoid all the lower-body overuse injuries that typically sideline 85% of runners for weeks or months every year.
Run with Efficiency
Run like a kid again, with a lot of play, and a natural stride that is highly efficient.
ChiRunning uses a centuries-old principle from T’ai Chi: let your core muscles do the most work.
When you use your core muscles it means your leg muscles to do less. Your lower leg muscles hardly work at all. In ChiRunning, your lower leg muscles are used for support, not propulsion.
As we age past childhood, we do just the opposite We push ourselves along when we run, using our feet and toes, while ignoring the abundance of power in our core. This is a formula for fatigue and injury.
In ChiRunning the efficiency of your forward motion comes from letting gravity boost your propulsion. This takes the workload off your legs, letting you run lightly and naturally like you did as a kid.
