Why ChiRunning?
My story:

In the fall of 2017, I set a goal to go from “Couch to 50 miles” in 12 months. I saw a friend on Facebook post about finishing a 50 mile trail race. I said, “That looks like fun. I bet I can do that.” The next day I ran my first mile on a local trail with a plan to run that same race my friend did, the following year.
A few weeks later a friend of mine told me about ChiRunning. He said it might help me lower my chance of injuries. I bought the book and learned the principles and form well enough to train for and complete the Hawk 50 the following year.
But now I was hooked. I decided to run the Hawk 100 the following year. I missed the cutoff at mile 84 by ten minutes. Rain overnight made the trails as slick as grease. But my trail running friends told me about the Pumpkin Holler 100 that was six weeks later. I signed up and completed that race.
I was so impressed with what ChiRunning allowed me to achieve that I was eager to share it with other runners. It was an easy decision for me when I had the opportunity to become a ChiRunning instructor.
I look forward to helping you reach your running goals. Whether you want to run ultramarathons, marathons, half-marathons, 5K, or just to stay healthy and active, ChiRunning will help you reduce the risk of injury and be able to run with less effort. And, if you’re like me and plan to be a runner all your life, ChiRunning will help you keep moving forward for as long as you want.
What I offer my clients
One-to-one
The best way to learn ChiRunning is with one-to-one instruction. It takes focus and practice to move your body different from the way you’re used to.
I offer several levels of one-to-one instruction to help you learn what will help you get the results you want as quickly as possible.
ChiRunning Workshops
I offer ChiRunning Workshops in the Kansas City area. I also travel occasionally to teach workshops. Contact me to discuss hosting a workshop in your area.
When you attend a ChiRunning Workshop, you will get the skills to be a ChiRunner and a guide for putting what you learn into practice for your running goals.
Video Analysis and Form Work
Sometimes you may want a tuneup or want to change your form to recover from an injury. I can help you run more efficiently and with less risk of injury. I offer a one hour running-form consultation and video analysis for clients who want to make some basic changes to their running form. I do a video analysis and then help you focus on what form adjustments will give you the best results. This service can be in person or online.
