Your mindset is shown in the words you speak
I’m going to do a magic trick. Here’s my hat & nothing inside.
Abra Kadabra!
Did you see that?
Of course not! This is a podcast. But if you could see me, still see nothing.
There was something missing . . . I’ll tell you what in a minute.
What went wrong with my magic trick?
I had the hat.
Said the magic words.
But no rabbit.
Besides the fact I’m not a magician, I only said I was going to show you a magic trick. I never said I was going to pull a rabbit out of my hat.
Abra Kadabra won’t work if you don’t specify what you want.

Hebrew: I will create as I speak. Or I will create as has been spoken.
New Age: “manifesting” – What you think about and speak out loud will come to you.
But this is not new. The Jewish people have known this for centuries. They came up with the concept of Abra Kadabra: I will create as I speak.
Proverbs: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof.
Jewish and Xan faith: God spoke and created all there is. We are created in God’s image. Our words have power.
Today we don’t pay much attention to the words we use.
What’s the big deal? They’re only words.
Last few weeks I’ve talked about limiting beliefs.
Real power of limiting beliefs is the effect they have on our words.
What you believe will come out of your mouth. Listen to what you say: out loud, inner voice.
Out loud:
I’m not good at ________.
Nothing ever goes right for me.
I’m so far down I’ll never be rich.
Nobody cares what I think.
I’m afraid what might happen.
Inner voice:
I’m not good enough.
No one cares about me.
I’m like a magnet for disaster.
It doesn’t matter whether you believe words themselves have power in a metaphysical sense. There is good evidence they do. Jewish, Xan, New Age, occult believe they do.
But even if you take away the metaphysical and approach from purely psychological view – your words come from your mindset . . . and they reinforce your mindset.
Even from this perspective, your words create your reality. As I’ve said in a past Monday Morning Mindset – you don’t experience reality as it really is. You experience reality that you create from the stories you tell yourself about the world – stories made up of words and phrases . . .
Abra Kadabra. I will create as I have spoken.
You may be saying: This is kinda interesting, but SO WHAT?
Good question: This is Monday Morning Mindset after all.
Takeaway: Your mindset determines the life you have. Ask yourself, “How’s it working for me so far?”
If life isn’t what you want it to be, the first step is to pay attention to the words coming out of your mouth.
Here’s the best part: You have complete control over what you say.
For most of us, it doesn’t feel that way because we have a list of auto-respond phrases we use out of habit.
So here’s my challenge for this week:
- Think before you speak.
- Imagine that the words you say will manifest into reality.
- Decide if that’s the reality you want to live in this week.
Abra Kadabra: I will create as I have spoken.
